Everywhere you look is a gift...

Last night I was lucky enough to score tickets to see David Lynch speak at Brooklyn Academy of Music.  It was emotional and overwhelming to see someone who has influenced my life is so many ways.  Having seen all his films, obsessed and then obsessed again over Twin Peaks and the nature of the White and Black Lodge,  listening to his music, seeing his art shows, owning his books, gone through Transcendental Meditation training… I realize what a force this person has been to me and how much he has given the world.  One thing he said that struck me (oh there was so much) was when looking at an image the interviewer asked him to comment on…”Everywhere you look is a gift”.  What a beautiful and hopeful way to encounter this world.  In all its love, sadness, complexity, deterioration and growth… everything little thing is somehow a gift.
